Author Guidelines


The submitted manuscript should be addressed to editor-in-chief of Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia. Manuscript must be submitted through online submission by registered users.


The submitted manuscript should be a text that has not been published nor is it before another journal for consideration, either in Bahasa Indonesia or English.

The submitted Manuscript must include these following documents:

  1. Approval letter of publication and a letter of introduction signed by researcher / writer and the rest of the authors.
  2. Affidavit that ensures that the submitted manuscript has not been published in other media.
  3. Statement of originality which stated that the submitted manuscript is free from plagiarism and that the was not conducted following any other research.
  4. Letter of approval from the local Committee of Ethical Research
  5. Authors must also supply ICMJE conflicts of interest statement form. Authors can download the COI form in this website using Adobe reader or Foxit.

We accept original article, case report, and review article.

Research Article

The manuscript should include an original research article in the field of medicine and health. The systematics are as follow:

  • The manuscript should contain title of heading and subheading, abstract, introduction, research methods, research results, discussion, and conclusion.
  • Title Page
    • The title page should contain: 1) The title, which should be concised but informative, written in uppercase / capital, Long title should be divided into subheadings, written in bold with font Times New Roman size 14, single-spaced and located in the middle (center) (2) name of the author, written under the title without academic degree, starting with the last name and an abbreviation of the first name, beginning with a capital letter, without the word "by", the order of the authors should be as follow : first author followed by the second author, third and so on, given the superscript, font size 10 (3) name of the Department or Agency (4) Author’s full name and address (electronic, non-electronic, telephone number) for correspondence, (5) should include a summary of title for the header .
  • Abstract :
    • Should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English
    • Should be bolded (bold), and the number of words should be no more than 250 words, typed in single-space, written in font Times New Roman size 11. Use straight letter for abstract in Bahasa Indonesia and Italics for abstract in English, and should also include a title in English.
    • Should be consisted of background, research objective, methodology, results, conclusion and keyword. The titles of every section should be bolded (bold) with spaces between sections
    • The content of each sections should be presented in ‘Justify’ paragraph with no ‘First line indent’.
  • Introduction
    • Should be written without subtitle, should also contain background, a little review of the literature, and research purposes.
  • Research Methodology
    • Should be described in detail, including research design, population, sample, data sources, data collection techniques/instruments, analysis procedures, as well as research place and period.
  • Result and Discussion:
    • Analysis should be accurate and argumentative; the results should be related to appropriate and systematic theories.
  • Conclusion and Suggestion
    • Conclusion should be the answer of research problem, unequivocal statement. Suggestion should be logical, appropriate and not be pretended.
  • Bibliography or References
    • Should be written according to the rules of Vancouver, sequence should be appropriate with the appearance in the overall text.
    • 80% of the publications should be cited from the last 10 years, and represent the initial reference.
    • Front should be Times New Roman, size 11, single-space between number without space.

Literature review

  • The manuscript should contain a comprehensive analysis of a specific topic.
  • The manuscript should be limited to 5000 words.
  • Content of manuscript:
    • Page Titles (appropriate manuscript title page of research result)
    • Abstract should be written in Bahasa Indonesia and English.
    • Keywords should be maximum 10 words and no repeat of words in the title
    • Introduction should contain definition, background and importance of the problem, goals and research contribution.
    • The literature review should be the description of the problem and contain enough resource material of related research.
    • The discussion should be appropriate with the issues discussed in the literature review, mixed with opinions and arguments, which are relevant to the problems.
    • Conclusion should be according to the summary and discussion.
    • References (in accordance with the instructions of writing references)

Case Report

  • The manuscript should not exceed more than 2000 word.
  • The content of manuscript includes (adopted from CARE guidelines):
    • The title page ( The words “case report” (or “case study”) should appear in the title along with phenomenon of greatest interest (eg, symptom, diagnosis, test, intervention)
    • Abstracts should not be more than 250 words, written in English. Abstract includes Introduction (What does this case add), case Presentation (The main symptoms of the patient, the main clinical findings, the main diagnoses and interventions. and the main outcomes), and Conclusion (What were the main “take-away” lessons from this case)
    • Keywords: the keywords should not exceed 5 words
    • Case report should be made a brief but complete :
          • Introduction should contain definition and background of the problem, or experience of other people's writing briefly about the same issues and the interests of the case, reason for reported.
          • Patient information: Demographic information (eg, age, gender, ethnicity, occupation), main symptoms of the patient (his or her chief complaints), medical, family, and psychosocial history—including diet, lifestyle, and genetic information whenever possible, and details about relevant comorbidities including past interventions and their outcomes.
          • Clinical finding: Describe the relevant physical examination (PE) findings
          • Diagnostic assessment: Diagnostic methods (eg, PE, laboratory testing, imaging, questionnaires), diagnostic challenges (eg, financial, language/cultural), diagnostic reasoning including other diagnoses considered and prognostic characteristics (eg, staging) where applicable.
          • Therapeutic intervention
          • Follow-up and outcomes: Summarize the clinical course of all follow-up visits including Clinician and patient assessed outcomes, Important follow-up test results (positive or negative), intervention adherence and tolerability (and how this was assessed), and adverse and unanticipated events
          • Discussion: The strengths and limitations of the management of the case, The relevant medical literature, the rationale for conclusions (including assessments of cause and effect, and the main “take-away” lessons of this case report. Review of Literature should be appropriate and closely related to the case. Rooted in the study of literature is made, then made a summary as a basis for discussion.
          • Conclusion should sum up of the results and discussion, and answer of research question. Suggestion should be logical, appropriate and not be based on pretend.
          • References (in accordance with the guidelines for writing a review Ref.)
    • Please submitted  the informed consent letters or Letter of approval from the local Committee of Ethical Research

Unit of Measurement

Measurements of length, height, weight, and volume should be reported in metric units (meter, kilogram, or liter) or their decimal multiples. Temperatures should be in degrees Celsius. Blood pressures should be in millimeters of mercury, unless other units are specifically required by the journal.

Tables and Figures

Type or print each table with single spacing, font Times New Roman size 11, and number tables consecutively in the order of their first citation in the text and supply a brief title for each. The title of the tables should be precise, clear, and located above the table and flat table. The title of pictures should be short, clear, and located below the image and flat images. Do not use internal vertical lines. When symbols, arrows, numbers, or letters are used to identify parts of the illustrations, identify and explain each one clearly in the legend. If a figure has been published, acknowledge the original source and submit written permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the material. Permission is required irrespective of authorship or publisher except for documents in the public domain.
