This understanding is closely related to the theory of naskh–mansūkh, in which the Madaniyyah verses are considered to abrogate the Makkiyyah verses. However, this classical approach has been criticized by modern thinkers such as Mahmud Muhammad Thaha and Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd, who offered alternative paradigms. This article aims to examine the views of these two figures in order to assess their relevance to contemporary Qur’anic studies. Using a library research method and employing classical Makki–Madani theory along with the classical theory of naskh as analytical frameworks, this study finds that Thaha interprets Makki–Madani through the criterion of the addressee (<em>khitāb</em>) and emphasizes the occurrence of reciprocal naskh between the two. Meanwhile, Abu Zayd proposes a new classification that highlights the dialectic between reality and text: reality as a dynamic historical context, and text as content and linguistic structure. Unlike Thaha, Abu Zayd rejects the simplification of the naskh–mansūkh relationship based solely on the Makki–Madani dichotomy without taking into account the historical context of <em>asbāb al-nuzūl</em> and the chronology of revelation. These findings demonstrate that a re-reading of the Makki–Madani category is necessary, not only to critique classical approaches but also to enrich contemporary Qur’anic discourse with more contextual and critical perspectives.</p> <p>[Kajian Makki–Madani secara tradisional diklasifikasikan oleh ulama klasik berdasarkan tempat turunnya, waktu pewahyuan, dan objek sasaran ayat. Pemahaman ini erat kaitannya dengan teori naskh–mansūkh, di mana ayat-ayat Madaniyyah dipandang menasakh ayat-ayat Makkiyyah. Namun, pendekatan klasik tersebut mendapat kritik dari pemikir modern seperti Mahmud Muhammad Thaha dan Nasr Hamid Abu Zayd yang menawarkan paradigma alternatif. Artikel ini bertujuan mengkaji pandangan kedua tokoh tersebut guna menilai relevansinya bagi studi Al-Qur’an kontemporer. Amid growing concerns about moral decline and increasing crime rates in the area, the mosque has emerged as a non-formal institution that fulfills both educational and social functions. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing techniques. The findings reveal that religious activities such as <em>wirid kliwon</em>, women’s Qur’anic study groups, and student Qur’an recitation (<em>tadarus</em>) contribute to character development through the collective internalization of Islamic values. The values formed include discipline, responsibility, empathy, religiosity, and social solidarity. Using Emile Durkheim’s theory of religious experience, this study shows that collective religious practices foster moral awareness and strengthen social bonds. This research offers a new contribution to the study of Islamic character education based on community engagement, and demonstrates that mosques can serve as transformative spaces that respond effectively and meaningfully to contemporary social challenges.</p> <p>[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran kegiatan keagamaan dalam membentuk karakter <em>jama’ah</em> di Masjid <em>Dakwatul Islam</em>, yang terletak di Kecamatan Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Yogyakarta. Di tengah meningkatnya kekhawatiran tentang kemerosotan moral dan meningkatnya angka kejahatan di daerah tersebut, masjid telah muncul sebagai lembaga nonformal yang memenuhi fungsi pendidikan dan sosial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi, dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik reduksi data, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa kegiatan keagamaan seperti <em>wirid kliwon</em>, kelompok studi Al-Qur’an wanita, dan pembacaan Al-Qur’an siswa (<em>tadarus</em>) berkontribusi terhadap pengembangan karakter melalui internalisasi nilai-nilai Islam secara kolektif. Employing a qualitative approach with a case study strategy, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation of Wahdah Islamiyah’s da‘wah, educational, and social activities. The findings indicate that Wahdah Islamiyah actively contributes to managing diversity through inclusive community-based da‘wah, the implementation of moderate and integrated Islamic education, and non-discriminatory cross-identity social programs. Although ideologically grounded in the Salafi manhaj, Wahdah Islamiyah’s socio-religious practices in Bulukumba are adaptive, persuasive, and context-sensitive, enabling the organization to build bridging social capital and function as a civil Islam actor at the local level. The study concludes that Wahdah Islamiyah plays a significant role in fostering harmony and social cohesion within a plural society, despite facing internal challenges related to cadres’ limited capacity in pluralism issues and external challenges in the form of persistent conservative stigma.</p> <p>[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Wahdah Islamiyah dalam menjaga keberagaman dan memperkuat kohesi sosial masyarakat di Kabupaten Bulukumba. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan strategi studi kasus, melalui pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi terhadap aktivitas dakwah, pendidikan, dan sosial Wahdah Islamiyah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Wahdah Islamiyah berperan aktif dalam merawat keberagaman melalui dakwah inklusif berbasis komunitas, pengelolaan pendidikan Islam yang moderat dan terintegrasi, serta program sosial lintas identitas yang bersifat non-diskriminatif. Meskipun berlandaskan manhaj salafi, praktik sosial-keagamaan Wahdah Islamiyah di Bulukumba bersifat adaptif, persuasif, dan kontekstual, sehingga mampu membangun <em>bridging social capital</em> dan berfungsi sebagai aktor <em>civil Islam</em> di tingkat lokal. There is scholarly debate regarding the permissibility of <em>bai‘ wafā’</em> as the basis for <em>Bai‘ Istiglāl</em>; some prohibit it, arguing it resembles interest-based transactions (<em>riba</em>) or uncertain transactions (<em>gharar</em>), while others permit it under the principle of necessity (<em>ḍarūrah</em>). This research employs a qualitative textual study by analyzing primary sources from the four schools, including <em>Hāsyiyah Radd al-Muḥtār</em>, <em>Bulghah al-Sālik li Aqrab al-Masālik</em>, and <em>al-Mughnī li Ibn Qudāmah</em>, along with secondary sources such as theses, dissertations, and other relevant scholarly publications. The findings indicate that differences in scholarly opinion arise due to the absence of explicit textual evidence, divergent interpretations regarding elements of <em>riba</em>, conditional sales, and similarities to <em>rahn</em> (pawning practices). Based on the principles of permissibility in <em>mu‘āmalah</em>, justice, and prevention of harm (<em>maḍarat</em>), <em>Bai‘ Istiglāl</em> is considered permissible if the contract meets the conditions of validity. The strongest opinion supports the permissibility of <em>Bai‘ Istiglāl</em>, provided that the contract is conducted separately, clearly, and free from <em>riba</em>, <em>gharar</em>, and unlawful gain, in accordance with QS. Al-Baqarah verses 275 and 188 and supported by hadith narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud. This practice is deemed valid under <em>sharia</em> principles if it ensures transparency, mutual consent, fairness, and aligns with contemporary transactional needs.</p> <p>[Penelitian ini membahas perbandingan pendapat ulama empat mazhab mengenai <em data-start="218" data-end="233">Bai‘ Istiglāl</em>, yaitu struktur akad inovatif yang menggabungkan <em data-start="283" data-end="295">bai‘ wafā’</em> dan <em data-start="300" data-end="308">ijārah</em>, yang digunakan dalam instrumen <em data-start="341" data-end="348">Sukuk</em> kontemporer untuk memenuhi kebutuhan transaksi modern. Terdapat perdebatan di kalangan ulama mengenai keabsahan <em data-start="461" data-end="473">bai‘ wafā’</em> sebagai dasar akad <em data-start="493" data-end="508">Bai‘ Istiglāl</em>; sebagian melarang karena dianggap menyerupai <em data-start="555" data-end="561">riba</em> atau transaksi yang tidak jelas (<em data-start="595" data-end="603">gharar</em>), sementara sebagian lain memperbolehkan dengan alasan kebutuhan mendesak (<em data-start="679" data-end="688">ḍarūrah</em>). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif berupa studi teks dengan menganalisis literatur primer dari kitab-kitab empat mazhab, termasuk <em data-start="831" data-end="856">Hāsyiyah Radd al-Muḥtār</em>, <em data-start="858" data-end="896">Bulghah al-Sālik li Aqrab al-Masālik</em>, dan <em data-start="902" data-end="928">al-Mughnī li Ibn Qudāmah</em>, serta literatur sekunder seperti skripsi, tesis, disertasi, dan publikasi ilmiah relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan pendapat ulama muncul karena tidak terdapat dalil eksplisit, perbedaan interpretasi terkait unsur <em data-start="1163" data-end="1169">riba</em>, jual beli bersyarat, dan kemiripannya dengan <em data-start="1216" data-end="1222">rahn</em> (gadai). Berdasarkan prinsip kebolehan <em data-start="1262" data-end="1273">mu‘āmalah</em>, keadilan, dan peniadaan <em data-start="1299" data-end="1308">maḍarat</em>, <em data-start="1310" data-end="1325">Bai‘ Istiglāl</em> dapat dibolehkan jika memenuhi syarat sah akad. Al-Furqan: 63-77) https://journal.uii.ac.id/Abhats/article/view/46584 <p>Generation Z currently faces a complex digital paradox, where unlimited access to information is accompanied by identity crises, anxiety, and the <em>attitude–behavior gap</em> phenomenon, a discrepancy between value awareness and actual behavior. This study aims to reconstruct the character profile of <em>‘Ibād al-Raḥmān</em> found in QS. Al-Furqan verses 63–77 as an alternative role model and curative solution to these problems. This study employs a qualitative method (<em>library research</em>) using thematic (<em>mawḍū‘ī</em>) and comparative (<em>muqāran</em>) exegesis approaches. The primary data sources are <em>Tafsir al-Munir</em> by <em>Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī</em> and <em>Tafsir al-Misbah</em> by <em>M. Quraish Shihab</em>. The results indicate a complementary synergy between the two scholars: <em>al-Zuḥaylī</em> emphasizes normative-theological aspects (legal obedience and eschatological orientation), while <em>Quraish Shihab</em> highlights sociological-humanist aspects (social stability and psychological well-being). The synthesis of these interpretations produces four main character dimensions: social ethics, spiritual balance, personal integrity, and transcendental awareness. Through recontextualization, the character of <em>‘Ibād al-Raḥmān</em> proves relevant in addressing Generation Z’s challenges: the attribute of <em>haunan</em> (humility) serves as an antithesis to the culture of showing off (<em>flexing</em>), <em>anti-zūr</em> integrity functions as digital literacy ethics against hoaxes, and the practice of <em>qiyām al-layl</em> acts as a healing mechanism for mental health.</p> <p>[Generasi Z saat ini menghadapi paradoks digital yang kompleks, di mana kemudahan akses informasi justru diiringi dengan krisis identitas, kecemasan (<em>anxiety</em>), dan fenomena <em>attitude–behavior gap</em> atau kesenjangan antara kesadaran nilai dan perilaku nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi profil karakter <em>‘Ibād al-Raḥmān</em> yang termaktub dalam QS. <em>Al-Furqan</em> ayat 63–77 sebagai <em>role model</em> alternatif dan solusi kuratif bagi problematika tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif (<em>library research</em>) dengan pendekatan tafsir tematik (<em>mawḍū‘ī</em>) dan komparatif (<em>muqāran</em>). Sumber data utama adalah <em>Tafsir al-Munir</em> karya <em>Wahbah al-Zuḥaylī</em> dan <em>Tafsir al-Misbah</em> karya <em>M. Quraish Shihab</em>. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya sinergi komplementer antara kedua mufasir: <em>al-Zuḥaylī</em> menekankan aspek normatif-teologis (kepatuhan hukum dan orientasi akhirat), sedangkan <em>Quraish Shihab</em> menekankan aspek sosiologis-humanis (stabilitas sosial dan kesejahteraan psikologis). Sintesis kedua tafsir ini menghasilkan empat dimensi karakter utama, yaitu etika sosial, keseimbangan spiritual, integritas diri, dan kesadaran transendental. In today’s digital age, <em>sholawat</em> songs have spread widely across various digital platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, and others. This indicates that the medium of <em>dakwah</em> delivery has transformed within society from the traditional approach of sermons to more artistic methods, one of which is <em>sholawat</em> music that embeds religious messages within it. The method used in this study is a qualitative approach. This is based on the research objective, which requires analyses aligned with qualitative methods. Data collection in this study involved reviewing journals, books, regulations, and other sources relevant to the topic, ensuring strong analytical foundations. Data analysis was conducted by examining each data source and assessing its relevance to the study, allowing the results to be objective, valid, and accountable. The results indicate that <em>sholawat</em> song content can serve as a medium for conveying <em>dakwah</em> messages to public officials in order to develop ethical awareness in the digital era. <em>Sholawat</em> songs contain artistic elements that invite listeners to enjoy and absorb the messages within them. Furthermore, the use of art has historically become a form of knowledge continuously studied during the golden age of Islam. During the early spread of Islam in the Nusantara, Islamic teachings were conveyed through musical arts, enabling <em>dakwah</em> to spread beautifully among the community.</p> <p>[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji konten lagu sholawat sebagai media penyampaian pesan dakwah kepada pejabat publik dalam membentuk kesadaran etika pejabat di era digital. Sebab di era digital sekarang ini lagu sholawat telah tersebar di berbagai media digital, mulai dari YouTube, TikTok, dan media lainnya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa media penyampaian dakwah telah berubah dalam kehidupan masyarakat yang awalnya dilakukan dengan ceramah, sekarang banyak dilakukan dengan kesenian, salah satunya lewat seni sholawat dengan menyelipkan pesan agama di dalamnya. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Hal ini didasarkan pada tujuan penelitian yang membutuhkan analisis yang berhubungan dengan metode kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui <em>review</em> jurnal, buku, peraturan, dan sumber lainnya yang memiliki hubungan dengan penelitian ini, sehingga penelitian ini mempunyai analisis yang kuat. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menelaah setiap sumber data yang diambil dan menganalisis hubungannya dengan penelitian ini sehingga menghasilkan temuan yang objektif, valid, dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konten lagu sholawat dapat menjadi media penyampaian pesan dakwah kepada pejabat publik untuk membangun kesadaran etika di era digital. Lagu sholawat mengandung unsur seni yang dapat mengajak masyarakat untuk menikmati dan menyerap pesan yang terkandung di dalamnya. Selain itu, kesenian telah menjadi bagian dari ilmu pengetahuan yang terus dipelajari pada masa kejayaan Islam. This article examines the origins of this dynasty, the development of its administration from Babur to Aurangzeb, as well as the various political, economic, artistic, and cultural advancements achieved. Furthermore, this study analyzes the internal and external factors that led to its decline and eventual collapse in the mid-19th century. Using a historical-descriptive approach, this research demonstrates that the initial success of the Mughal Dynasty was underpinned by strong leadership, measured expansion, and a culture of tolerance. Conversely, its decline was triggered by weakening leadership, internal conflicts, the resurgence of Hindu society, and British colonial intervention through the British East India Company. These findings emphasize that the dynamics of Mughal triumph and collapse serve as a significant example of the relationship between leadership, social stability, and foreign political influence in the history of Islam in South Asia.</p> <p>[Dinasti Mughol India merupakan salah satu kekuatan politik terbesar dalam sejarah dunia Islam yang berkuasa sejak tahun 1526 hingga 1858. Artikel ini mengkaji asal-usul kemunculan dinasti ini, perkembangan pemerintahan dari Babur hingga Aurangzeb, serta berbagai kemajuan politik, ekonomi, seni, dan budaya yang dicapai. Selain itu, tulisan ini juga menelaah faktor-faktor internal dan eksternal yang menyebabkan kemunduran dan kehancurannya pada pertengahan abad ke-19. This article aims to analyze the concept of <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em> and examine its relationship with the Arabic language and <em>uṣûl al-fiqh</em> as two foundational disciplines of tafsîr methodology. This research employs a qualitative approach through library research by examining classical and contemporary exegetical works, Arabic linguistic literature, and uṣûl al-fiqh sources. The findings reveal that <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em> has a structural connection with the Arabic language, particularly in grammatical, semantic, and rhetorical aspects that determine the accuracy of Qur’anic textual interpretation. Furthermore, its relationship with uṣūl al-fiqh is evident through shared methodological principles, such as <em>‘âm-khâṣṣ, muṭlaq-muqayyad</em>, and <em>nâsikh-mansûkh</em>, which function to balance textual meaning with the objectives of Islamic law (<em>maqâṣid al-sharî’ah</em>). This article argues that the integration of <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em>, Arabic linguistics, and uṣûl al-fiqh is a prerequisite for constructing a comprehensive and systematic tafsîr methodology that remains relevant to contemporary scholarly challenges.</p> <p>[Kajian <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em> menempati posisi sentral dalam ilmu tafsir karena berfungsi sebagai kerangka metodologis yang menjaga konsistensi, objektivitas, dan validitas penafsiran Al-Qur’an. Artikel ini bertujuan menganalisis konsep <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em> serta mengkaji relasinya dengan bahasa Arab dan <em>uṣûl al-fiqh</em> sebagai dua disiplin yang membentuk fondasi metodologis tafsir. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui studi kepustakaan dengan menelaah karya tafsir klasik dan kontemporer, literatur kebahasaan Arab, serta sumber-sumber <em>uṣûl al-fiqh</em>. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa <em>qawâ’id al-tafsîr</em> memiliki keterkaitan struktural dengan bahasa Arab, khususnya dalam aspek gramatika, semantik, dan retorika, yang berperan menentukan ketepatan pemaknaan teks Al-Qur’an. Contrary to the general assumption that Sufi works are born from complex adult contemplation, genetic data from this research reveals that the song originated from the author’s spontaneous interaction with kindergarten children. The central problem lies in how a text born from the innocence of “childhood narrative” can transcend into a profound theological text for adult listeners. This study aims to dismantle this semiotic mechanism using a qualitative method with Roland Barthes’ Semiotics approach, supported by exclusive interview data as genetic context. The results reveal three key findings. First, at the connotation level, the children’s impulse to immediately help a friend (“when falling”, “when hungry”) is a pure manifestation of <em>fitrah</em> (innate nature), paralleling the ethics of <em>Futuwwah</em>. Second, at the myth level, the negation of fictional figures (“I am not Superman”) serves as a deconstruction of the “myth of power” and a critique of modern human ego inflation, while affirming the realism of physical presence. Third, the inspiration from the story of Prophet Ibrahim seeking a dining companion provides an intertextual basis for the ambiguity of the pronoun “Aku” (I), where the profane act of sharing food is reinterpreted as God’s manifestation (<em>tajalli</em>) through the availability of His servant. The conclusion confirms <em>The Death of the Author</em> theory, where the author’s pedagogical intent is surpassed by the text’s theological meaning production, proving that the path to gnosis (<em>makrifat</em>) can be found through the innocence of human nature.</p> <p>[Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena transformasi makna dalam lagu ’Aku Ada’ karya Panji Sakti, sebuah karya yang menunjukkan anomali unik dalam lanskap musik sufistik Indonesia. Berbeda dengan asumsi umum bahwa karya sufistik lahir dari kontemplasi dewasa yang rumit, data genetik penelitian ini mengungkap bahwa lagu tersebut bermula dari interaksi spontan penulis dengan anak-anak Taman Kanak-Kanak (TK). Permasalahan utama penelitian terletak pada bagaimana teks yang lahir dari kepolosan ”narasi kanak-kanak” dapat mengalami transendensi makna menjadi teks teologis yang mendalam bagi pendengar dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membongkar mekanisme semiotis tersebut dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dan pisau analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes, didukung oleh data wawancara eksklusif sebagai konteks genetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tiga temuan kunci. Pertama, pada tingkat konotasi, impuls anak-anak untuk segera menolong teman (”saat jatuh”, ”saat lapar”) merupakan manifestasi murni dari fitrah yang sejajar dengan etika <em>futuwwah</em>. Kedua, pada tingkat mitos, negasi terhadap tokoh fiksi (”Aku bukan Superman”) berfungsi sebagai dekonstruksi terhadap ”mitos kekuatan” (<em>myth of power</em>) dan kritik terhadap inflasi ego manusia modern, sekaligus menegaskan realisme kehadiran fisik. Ketiga, inspirasi kisah Nabi Ibrahim a.s. yang mencari teman makan menjadi landasan intertekstual bagi ambiguitas pronomina ”Aku”, di mana aksi profan berbagi makanan dimaknai ulang sebagai manifestasi (<em>tajalli</em>) Tuhan melalui ketersediaan hamba-Nya.
