MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) play a crucial role in supporting Indonesia’s economy, including the furniture sector, which holds significant development potential. XYZ Regency is well-known as a furniture MSME hub with products exported widely. However, challenges such as raw material cutting efficiency, production quality standardization, and limited working capital remain obstacles for business actors. The XYZ Regency Government is planning to develop a furniture industrial center to improve community welfare, increase global market competitiveness, and benefit various stakeholders. This study aims to evaluate the business feasibility of a furniture industrial center in XYZ from a financial perspective. The quantitative method used involved data collection through surveys and questionnaires engaging 1,155 furniture MSMEs in A and B Subdistricts. Analysis was conducted by calculating cost of goods manufactured (COGM), labor costs, overhead, and projected profit and loss. The results indicate that annual labor costs reach IDR 1,513,046,088, overhead is IDR 997,270,000, and non-production operational costs are IDR 724,560,000. The estimated Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is IDR 3,234,876,088, with annual revenue potential of IDR 4,464,000,000 and a net profit of IDR 629,123,912. Projections show that the Break-Even Point (BEP) is expected to be achieved between the 8th and 9th years, with optimum operational targets being reached by the 10th year. https://journal.uii.ac.id/JATTEC/article/view/35734

Tuwung Village, located in the Kahayan Tengah District, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan, has significant potential in managing social forestry land to support food security. The local community, organized in the Social Forestry Business Group (KUPS), has successfully cultivated 120 hives of stingless bees (Trigona sp.), with monthly production capacity of up to 350 mL per hive. Although honey production is abundant, its sales remain very limited due to a marketing strategy that relies solely on word-of-mouth promotion. Therefore, this community service activity was introduced to provide guidance to KUPS Madu Kelulut on branding, product packaging, and digital marketing. With an attractive brand, high-quality packaging, and the right marketing strategy, it is hoped that the stingless bee honey business can become more competitive in a market already saturated with similar products. This community service program involved several stages, including preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The activity was carried out on July 9, 2024, with 40 participants. The evaluation results indicated an 81.25% increase in participants' understanding of branding, product packaging, and digital marketing. Furthermore, the participants successfully created the brand "Madu Kelulut Nyai Hapu," with an appealing packaging design and effective promotional content shared through social media and e-commerce platforms.
Yuliana YulianaRetno AgnestisiaRizki Rachmad SaputraMarvin Horale Pasaribu

Digital technology, especially SolidWorks software and 3D printing, has brought significant changes to the modern manufacturing industry, increasing efficiency, productivity, and product quality. The problems faced by vocational school graduates are related to their lack of skills in operating the software. Community service activities aim to provide solutions, with direct training, to overcome the skills gap that arises due to the lack of facilities and competent teachers in the vocational school environment. Training methods include delivering material with practical exercises and using evaluations to measure participants' understanding. The main goal is to improve product design skills using SolidWorks and operating 3D printing machines. Based on the training carried out, it shows an increase in participants' knowledge regarding the operation of SolidWorks software and 3D printing. This can be seen from the increase in post-test scores of 6.34% compared to the pre-test. In addition, the participants' 3D printed parts showed better quality in terms of dimensional accuracy, visual surface roughness, and fewer defective parts compared to before the training.
Rian PrasetyoMathilda Sri LestariAinur KomariahSuprapto SupraptoMaria Puspita Sari

https://journal.uii.ac.id/JATTEC/article/view/36800

In 2023, the waste production in D.I. Yogyakarta Province reached 440,267.76 tons per year, with household waste contributing the largest portion at 44.3% of the total. The continuous rise in waste is attributed to the increasing population and declining quality of life. Additionally, the local community's lack of awareness about effective waste management, such as composting food waste, exacerbates the problem, making it difficult for them to handle the waste they generate. This initiative aimed to educate the Padukuhan Sawit community, particularly RT.002, on household-based waste management practices. It included discussions and hands-on training on how to use mini composters. The methodology involved a field survey, discussions with community leaders, preparation and planning, socialization, distribution of mini composters, and an evaluation and demonstration of the proper use of mini composters. The program, conducted over two sessions, garnered significant enthusiasm from the participants. Out of the 10 mini composters distributed, only 4 were used independently. The main barrier preventing wider adoption was the fear of failure, such as unpleasant odors or other technical issues. Therefore, there is a need for strategic follow-up and mentoring to ensure the sustainability of the initiative. Such as monitoring each representative of the dasa wisma and distributing spare EM4 fluid to facilitate waste management for other residents.
Sayyidah Maulidatul AfraahMuhammad Saddam SofyandiMaulidia MulyaniGalih Dwi RamadhanBagus SajiwoGagas Nusa BaktiWin Fauzi AhmadiSiti RofiahSianani NurjannahIntan Ayu Nur Wegayanti

One of the urgent issues worldwide is infectious waste, which impacts both the environment and health. Infectious waste includes various types of medical waste, such as disposable diapers and sanitary pads contaminated with hazardous materials like blood, bodily fluids, and other pathogens. If not properly managed, infectious waste can lead to the spread of diseases. The village of Tanjungrejo, located in the Ngombol subdistrict, has a well-managed TPS3R Waste Bank, but one of the issues they face is the lack of a management method for infectious waste like disposable diapers and sanitary pads. In Tanjungrejo, infectious waste is often disposed of by being dumped into streams or burned along with other waste due to the lack of proper facilities for managing infectious waste. This method of waste management can lead to the transmission of diseases and environmental pollution, such as water, air, and soil contamination. Based on these issues, the aim of this community service project is to develop technologies and innovations to help address environmental problems, including the management of infectious waste. The project will use the Design Thinking method, which includes the stages of empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test.
Ryo AfrilianaChandra Adi WijayaIftitah HimawatiFajri Mulya IreshaHusein MubarokElvira Wahyuni
