Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh motif sosial terhadap kebermaknaan hidup remaja Pagaralam, Sumatra Selatan.
Subjek penelitian berjumlah 171 orang, berusia 15-18 tahun dan tinggal di kota Pagaralam. Menggunakan tehnik purposive sampling. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah, skala motif sosial dan skala kebermaknaan hidup.
Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan analisis regresi. hasil penelitian menunjukkan (1) terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara motif berprestasi, motif berafiliasi, motif berkuasa dengan kebermaknaan hidup pada remaja Pagaralam (F= 29, 983 p < 0,00 R= 0,592 and R²= 0,350), (2) Sumbangan prediktor motif berprestasi, motif berafiliasi, motif berkuasa sebesar 35%, (3) motif berprestasi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebermaknaan hidup (B = 1,727 p < 0,000), (4) motif berafiliasi memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebermaknaan hidup (B = 0,786 p < 0,000), (5) motif berkuasa memiliki pengaruh negatif dan signifikan terhadap kebermaknaan hidup (B = -0,495 p < 0,000)
