Abstract

Bullwhip effect is the phenomenon in which information on demand is distorted while moving upstream along supply chain that cause variance of demand is amplified. Some method have been proposed to identification and measure the bullwhip effect. Luong [2007] and Luong and Phien [2007] proposed the ratio of order demand and customer demand variances, while Fransoo dan Wouters [2003] proposed the ratio of coefficient of variance. This research is to analyze the robustness of both method, for two demand pattern and the variation of data numbers. This research recommended to use the Fransoo dan Wouters [2003]’s method for the bullwhip effect identification.
