Abstract
Penelitian terhadap variasi waktu dalam konversi ɑ-pinene menjadi terpeniol menggunakan katalis asam sulfat telah dilakukan. Konverci ɑ-pinene dilakukan menggunakan metode hidrasi dengan variasi waktu; 1 jam, 4 jam,5 jam, 6 jam dan 7 jam. Larutan yang terdiri dari ɑ-pinene, H2SO4 dan aquades dengan perbandingan l:l:5 direfluks dalam medium aseton pada temperatur 80-85°C. Hasil refluks dianalisis menggunakan GC-MS dan GC. Hasil analisis menunjukkan waktu optimum untuk reaksi konversi ɑ-pinene menjadi terpeniol yaitu 6 jam dengan jumlah 82,2 % dan selektifitas terpeniol 60,21 %.
