Abstract
Preparasi Fe(III)-montmorilloit dan aplikasinya pada fotodegradasi metilen biru dengan sinar UV telah dilakukan. Preparasi Fe(III)-montmorillonit dilakukan dengan tahapan pembuatan larutan agen pemilar, interkalasi, dan kalsinasi. Karakterisasi material dilakukan menggunakan XRD, dan SAA melalui persamaan BET. Degradasi metilen biru dilakukan menggunakan beberapa metode yaitu adsorpsi, fotokatalis, fotolisis, fotooksidasi dan oksidasi. Hasil karakterisasi menggunakan XRD menunjukkan Fe(III)-montmorillonit mempunyai basal spacing 12,23 Å, luas permukaan spesifik 110,513 m2g-1, volume total pori 158,8x10-3 cm3g-1 dan rerata jejari pori 28,74075 Å. Hasil degradasi metien biru dianalisis dengan menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis. Metode degradasi yang paling optimal adalah uji fotooksidasi pada pH 10, selama 180 menit, penyinaran di bawah sinar UVB (λ .. nm) dengan menggunakan 0,1 g Fe(III)-montmorillonit untuk setiap 500 mL MB 10-4 M dan peroksida (H2O2 50%) sebanyak 0,025 mL dapat menurunkan kadar metilen biru sebesar 92,564 %.
