Abstract


Purpose – This study aims to analyze the factors that influence Indonesian shrimp exports to the United States.


Methods – This study is an empirical study using time series data for the period 1989-2018. This study uses integration testing with Bond Test and Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) models.


Findings – The results of this study are the Gross Domestic Product (GDP USA) variable, the rupiah exchange rate against the dollar, the domestic shrimp price (Indonesia), the price of competing country shrimp (India), and the international shrimp price together have a significant influence on the volume of Indonesian shrimp exports. to the United States.


Implication – The implication of the results of this study is that the government and related agencies must be able to maintain and improve trade relations with export destination countries. Increase or expand the market share of shrimp to other countries in order to gain added value and create new superior products.


Originality – This study contributes to the analysis of the factors that affect Indonesian shrimp exports to the United States using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) approach.


Abstrak


Tujuan – Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ekspor udang Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat.


Metode – Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian empiris menggunakan data time series untuk periode 1989-2018. Penelitian ini menggunakan pengujian kontegrasi dengan Bond Test dan Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model.


Temuan – Hasil penelitian ini adalah variabel Gross Domestic Bruto (GDP USA), kurs rupiah tehadap dolar, harga udang domestic (Indonesia), harga udang Negara Pesaing (India), dan harga udang Internasional secara bersama-sama memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Volume ekspor udang Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat.


Implikasi – Implikasinya dari hasil penelitian ini adalah pemerintah dan instansi terkait harus bisa mempertahankan dan meningkatkan hubungan perdagangan dengan negara tujuan ekspor. Meningkatkan atau memperluas pangsa pasar udang ke Negara-negara lain agar dapat memperoleh nilai tambah dan menciptakan produk unggulan baru.


Orisinalitas – Penelitian ini berkontribusi terhadap analisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi ekspor udang Indonesia ke Amerika Serikat dengan menggunakan pendekatan Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL).
