Peer Review Process

All submitted manuscripts are subject to a double-blind review process, through an online system. The review process takes 6-8 weeks, and its primary focus is the novelty of the manuscripts and their contributions to the field of medical and health sciences.

Peer review procedures

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through JKKI's online system
The JKKI Editor Board will identify the quality of manuscript and the possibility of cases of scientific misconduct including authorship, ownership, and plagiarism.
The Editor Board notifies the submissions and informs the authors if the papers are suitable for the journals. Therefore, the manuscript will be sent to two reviewers for reviewing process.
All of the contributions of the JKKI are subject to a double-blind peer-review, which means that neither the author(s) nor the reviewers know the identity of the other.
At least two reviewers review every submitted paper. The review process is an online process and contains a clear referees' statements concerning paper's publishing approval or its rejection
In case of minor revisions, the article is sent to the author(s) together with a referees opinions. The authors are asked to respond to the referees' comments and make the appropriate adjustments in the text. Then, the authors send back the corrected version.
The Editorial Board makes the final decision on publication.

Publication Frequency

The journal publishes three issues in one volume a year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

This journal has been established since 2009 as JKKI : Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia (Print ISSN 2085-4145, Online ISSN 2527-2950) published by the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Islam Indonesia.

Announcement of Article Processing Charge

For manuscript submitted after 1 July 2023 and article which published in August 2023, this journal charges the following article processing charge:

Article Publication: 100 (USD) or Rp 1,500,000.00 (IDR)

Authors whose articles are published will receive a Letter of Acceptance and must pay a contribution of 100 (USD) or Rp. 1,500,000.00 (one million rupiahs) in Publish costs.

Announcement of Submission Manuscript (for author)

Starting in January 2021, the author should submit articles in English. The author may also submit articles in Indonesian, but will be charged translations in accordance with terms and conditions.

JKKI IS NOW INDEXED IN DOAJ!

It is a pleasure to inform all authors and readers that Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia (JKKI) has been listed and indexed in DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).
It is imperative to know that DOAJ is the world largest database that indexes and provides access to quality open access and peer-reviewed journals, as you can find on its website https://doaj.org/. By indexed in DOAJ, it may increase the visibility of the article as well as recognised the quality of the journal.

Journal Publication Fee (for author)

Thank you for your trust in publishing with us. We would like to announce that starting 2019, Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia charges the following author fees.

Publication Fee: 1.000.000 (IDR)
This journal only charges the article publication fee for all manuscript types, without any submission fee. The publication fee is US$ 100 for foreign authors and IDR 1,000,000,- for Indonesian authors. Once the accepted manuscript has been proofread by the authors, Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia office will send the invoice to the corresponding author and they need to complete the payment process before being published.

It is a pleasure for JKKI to inform you that by January 2019, the submission procedure is through Open Journal System (email submission will not be responded). The authors are mandatory to follow the Author Guideline and submit all the required documents (The manuscript which is not following the guideline thoroughly is potential to be rejected).

JKKI has been Accredited

We are pleased to announce that the Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia (JKKI) has been accredited by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic Indonesia with Decree No. 30/EKPT/2018. JKKI was accepted at the S2 level in SINTA (Science and Technology Index). Articles published in the journal will be more visible and will most likely receive a higher citation.
