Abstract
Robot Arms Simulation Software development using Structured Programming Languages, Third Party Language, and Artificial Intelligence Programming Language are the common techniques in simulating robot arms movement. Those three techniques are having its strengths and weaknesses depend on several constraints such as robot type, degree of operation complexity to be simulated, operator skills, and also computer capability. This paper will discuss on Robot Arms Simulation Software (RSS) development using two different programming languages approach which is Matlab and Java Programming Language. Comparison of how those two programming language in RSS Development will summarized explained through the paper and followed by the conclusions. Moreover, two case studies which had written before, in simulating Mitsubishi RV-2AJ robot arms movement using Matlab and Fanuc LR-Mate200i robot which is using Java Programming Language will be based for this paper. The comparison criteria will based on software capability, facility in interface development, capability of interactive robot arms movement simulation control, software memory requirement and also virtual memory requirement to speed-up the software.
Key words : Robot Arms Simulation (RSS), Matlab simulink, Java-3d
