Abstract
World Health Organization (WHO) memperkirakan pada tahun 2015 jumlah perokok di Indonesia sebesar 72.723.300 jiwa. Hal ini berarti sekurang-kurangnya akan ada sampah puntung rokok sebanyak 72.723.300 bila setiap perokok dalam sehari menghabiskan satu batang rokok. Bahan-bahan yang dikandung oleh puntung rokok sendiri merupakan bahan yang berbahaya terhadap lingkungan. Menyadari bahaya dan potensi yang ada dari limbah puntung rokok diperlukan adanya pemanfaatan limbah puntung rokok ini. Penelitian ini nantinya akan membuat limbah puntung rokok memiliki nilai guna dan bermanfaat sebagai upaya penanganan limbah. Salah satunya dengan menjadikan puntung rokok sebagai bahan media penyimpan energi dengan metode pirolisis dalam sebuah powerbank.Powerbank merupakan alternatif untuk pengisian energi daya bagi smartphone. Manusia saat ini dituntut untuk bermobilisasi dengan cepat, dan alat komunikasi smartphone lah sebagai salahsatu penghubungnya.Metode yang peneliti gunakan dalam proses penelitian ini yaitu metode desain partisipatori. Desain partisipatori adalah sebuah pendekatan untuk penilaian, desain, dan pengembangan sistem teknologi dan organisasi.
