Abstract
Batok kelapa merupakan limbah yang dihasilkan dari penggunaan kelapa itu sendiri. Pemanfaatan asap cair pada batok kelapa mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri/jamur dan dapat digunakan dalam pengobatan luka luar. Asap Cair didapatkan dari hasil pirolisis batok kelapa setelah melalui pemanasan pada variasi suhu 300oc, 400oc dan 500oc. Hasil asap cair dari pirolisis kemudian dimurnikan dengan metode distilasi dengan variasi suhu 80-100oc dan 100-110oc. Setelah didapatkan asap cair murni dilakukan pengujian dengan menggunakan GC-MS, uji antibakteri antara asap cair dan obat merah menggunakan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan metode difusi dan uji ph. Diketahui dari hasil GC-MS hasil optimum pada suhu pirolisis 400oc dengan suhu distilasi 100-110oc dengan kandungan fenol sebesar 13,55%. Pada uji antibakteri diketahui efektivitas antibiotik berhubungan dengan zona inhibisi pertumbuhannya, makin luas diameternya, maka makin besar potensi sampel antibiotik tersebut, dengan menggunakan pembanding obat merah diperoleh diameter terluas yaitu sebesar 15,6 mm yang terdapat pada asap cair dengan suhu pirolisis 400oc dengan suhu distilasi 100- 110oc. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kandungan fenol dalam asap cair dari batok kelapa dapat berperan dalam pngobatan penyakit infeksi seperti luka lecet dan koreng. Hal ini merupakan solusi alternatif yang cukup mudah pembuatannya dan tidak mengeluarkan biaya yang besar.
