Abstract
Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara yang kaya akan berbagai identitas pada masyarakatnya yang menempati di berbagai pulau. Identitas tersebut tentu rentan terjadinya berbagai isu rasisme hingga adanya isu SARA. Permasalahan tersebut kemudian berimplikasi ke segala aspek, khususnya pada aspek politik. Hal ini yang kemudian beririsan antara isu identitas atau keanekaragaman dengan aspek politik, sehingga timbulnya sebuah isu yang dikenal dengan politik identitas. Isu politik identitas merupakan salah satu permasalahan yang sering terjadi di berbagai negara, termasuk Indonesia. Hal ini kerap terjadi ketika diadakannya kontestasi politik di Indonesia, seperti pemilihan umum presiden, legislatif, hingga kepala daerah provinsi dan kabupaten/kota. Permasalahan seperti ini kemudian membuat konsep identitas sosial yang berdampak dengan mulitikulturalisme hingga politik di Indonesia mulai mengalami persinggungan yang menimbulkan berbagai aspek yang dinilai bertolak belakang. Berbagai konsep yang kemudian dikaitkan pada permasalahan yang akan dianalisis tentu membutuhkan beberapa kasus yang memiliki hubungan antara identitas dengan politik yang terjadi di Indonesia. Kemudian, terdapat juga penjelasan mengenai berbagai pemikiran dan faktor yang menimbulkan politik identitas ini mengakibatkan berdampak ke lingkungan masyarakat luas. Sehingga, maraknya pengaruh politik identitas ini membuat persepsi masyarakat semakin kompleks dan menimbulkan pro dan kontra hingga mengkhawatirkan terjadinya perpecahan, baik antar masyarakat maupun satu sama lain.
