Abstract
Pondok pesantren di Indonesia memiliki peran strategis dalam membentuk karakter Islami generasi muda, dengan kiyai sebagai figur sentral yang bertanggung jawab terhadap pembinaan moral dan spiritual. Namun hubungan antara peran kiyai dalam pendidikan karakter Islami dan kepuasan hidup alumni belum banyak diteliti. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh peran kiyai sebagai pendidik karakter Islami terhadap tingkat kepuasan hidup alumni pondok pesantren. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data diperoleh melalui kuesioner berbasis skala Likert yang diisi oleh 105 alumni pondok pesantren di Indonesia. Variabel utama meliputi peran kiyai dalam pendidikan karakter Islami dan kepuasan hidup alumni, yang mencakup dimensi kesejahteraan emosional, hubungan sosial, dan pencapaian hidup. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peran kiyai mempunyai pengaruh positif signifikan terhadap kepuasan hidup alumni (β = 0,185; p < 0,001). Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya peran Kiyai sebagai teladan moral yang mampu membentuk nilai-nilai Islami yang berkelanjutan dalam kehidupan alumni. Secara praktis, penelitian ini memberikan wawasan bagi pengelola pondok pesantren untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan karakter Islami guna mendukung kesejahteraan hidup alumni. Keterbatasan penelitian ini terletak pada jumlah sampel yang terbatas dan penggunaan metode survei, yang dapat mempengaruhi generalisasi temuan. Penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mencakup populasi yang lebih luas dan menggunakan pendekatan campuran untuk eksplorasi yang lebih mendalam
