Abstract
Film Kukira Kau Rumah menampilkan representasi perpustakaan yang sarat makna
ideologis, sehingga menarik untuk diteliti dalam kaitannya dengan persepsi publik
terhadap perpustakaan kontemporer. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan
kualitatif dengan metode analisis tekstual, mengacu pada teori representasi Stuart Hall
dan analisis tekstual McKee. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perpustakaan dalam
film direpresentasikan sebagai “kuburan ide” dan “museum buku.” Metafora “kuburan
ide” menggambarkan krisis literasi serta seruan agar perpustakaan menjadi ruang
hidup yang mampu menghidupkan, mempelajari, dan mengaktualisasikan ide-ide
yang terkandung di dalam koleksi. Sebaliknya, istilah “museum buku” merefleksikan
kritik terhadap aturan pembatasan peminjaman yang berpotensi mengerdilkan fungsi
perpustakaan menjadi sekadar etalase pengetahuan. Analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan
bahwa perpustakaan dalam film ini tidak hanya tampil sebagai latar, tetapi juga sebagai
tanda ideologis yang menyingkap ambivalensi institusi literasi, sekaligus menjadi simbol
resistensi generasi muda terhadap krisis literasi dan dominasi budaya digital. Penelitian
ini menegaskan urgensi revitalisasi peran perpustakaan sebagai ruang interaktif yang
mendukung literasi kritis, pengembangan intelektual, dan pertumbuhan generasi
milenial.
