Abstract
Data show that Indonesia is one country that has a high level of seismicity in theworld, more than 10 times the level of seismicity in the United States [BNPB,2012].Earthquake itself is a devastating natural disasters. Moreover, if the epicenter was near themainland and will be much more damaging if it is in the continental plate.Indonesia thathad already been expressed very prone to earthquake hazard is requiring the governmentto continue to develop risk reduction system. The people themselves also must do itindependently. One way is to build earthquake resistant houses. Kulon Progo district itselfis highly prone to earthquakes. Therefore the authors initiated to provide counseling forearthquake resistant buildings to people at Dusun Jeringan. Through this extension, thepublic will be more aware and follow the instructions construction of earthquake-resistanthouses in order to reduce the risk of casualties matter and people..
