Abstract: Orphaned students in Islamic boarding schools often face various psychological challenges, including adverse past experiences, low self-acceptance, and lack of emotional support, which may contribute to low levels of self-compassion. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) in enhancing self-compassion among orphaned students. Ten participants aged 15–18 were involved in a pre-experimental study using a one-group pretest-posttest design. Data were collected using a self-compassion scale and analyzed with repeated measures ANOVA. The results indicated a significant difference in self-compassion scores before and after the intervention, suggesting that ACT effectively improves self-compassion among orphaned boarding school students.
