Abstract
Kendala terbesar yang dihadapi tuna wicara adalah kesulitan berkomunikasi dengan orang normal di sekitar mereka.Seringkali orang lain tidak mengerti apa yang dibicarakan, karena mereka berbicara dalam bahasa isyarat menggunakan kedua tangan. Untuk merancang penelitian ini digunakan metode ergonomi partisipatori yang melibatkan partisipasi berbagai pihak, baik dari peneliti, pengguna alat, dan melibatkan tim ahli teknis yang merancang alat. Alat yang dirancang adalah jam tangan yang terhubung dengan sensor flex pada jari-jari, sehingga dapat mengeluarkan suara ketika menggunakan bahasa isyarat dengan kedua tangan. Dimensi dan ukuran pada jari-jari disesuaikan dengan antropometri pengguna: lingkar pergelangan tangan 18,5 cm, lebar ibu jari 2,5 cm, lebar jari telunjuk 2 cm, lebar jari tengah 2,3 cm, lebar jari manis 1,8 cm, dan lebar jari kelingking 1,6 cm. Dimensi antropometri bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kenyamanan dan keamanan bagi pengguna. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa alat ini dapat membantu tuna wicara untuk berkomunikasi dengan orang normal dengan mudah.
