Teknisia is a scientific journal publishing articles in the field of Civil Engineering. The journal features research results, scientific reviews, and literature reviews, enriched by insightful applications to specific cases. Published bi-annually, in May and November. Issued by the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering and Planning, Islamic University of Indonesia, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Teknisia publishes articles that focus on :

Structural engineering,

geotechnical engineering,

hydrological engineering,

construction management,

transportation engineering (structures and systems),

and disaster engineering.

 

Peer Review Process

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are responsible for:

  • Evaluating and assessing manuscripts within their area of expertise.
  • Providing scholarly, constructive, and honest feedback to authors.
  • Offering suggestions for improvement to enhance the manuscript's quality.
  • Evaluating the originality and contribution of the manuscript to the field.

Considerations Before Reviewing

  • If a manuscript falls outside your expertise, please contact the editor or journal manager as soon as possible.
  • The journal review process should be completed within a maximum of one month. If you encounter difficulties meeting this deadline, notify the editor or journal manager promptly.
  • If you initially agree to review but are unable to complete it within the timeframe, please inform the editor or journal manager as soon as possible.

Article Review

During manuscript assessment, reviewers should consider several aspects:

  1. Originality and Content Quality:
    Evaluate the article's novelty and determine if it belongs within the top 25% of its field. Ensure the article:
    • Adheres to the journal's standards.
    • Significantly contributes to knowledge.
    • Emphasizes the importance of the research objectives or background.
  1. Structural Organization:
    • Check for clear division into standard sections: introduction, methodology, results and discussion, and conclusion.
    • Ensure figures and tables are well-organized.
  1. Content Clarity:
    1. Theme Alignment:
      Verify the article aligns with the journal's theme or topic.
    2. Specific Clarity Elements:
      • Title: Assess if the title clearly reflects the article's content.
      • Abstract: Evaluate if the abstract accurately summarizes the article.
    3. Introduction:
      • Confirm the research objectives are clearly defined.
      • Assess if the author effectively articulates the research issues by:
      • Summarizing relevant previous research.
      • Specifying the objects of study in previous research.
      • Clearly outlining the different aspects the author examines.
    4. Methodology:
      Evaluate whether the author:
      • Precisely explains data collection details.
      • Uses methods aligned with their objectives.
      • Identifies specific procedures undertaken.
      • Explains innovative methods in detail and clarity.
      • Employs sufficient sampling.
      • Adequately describes materials and tools.
    5. Results and Discussion:
      • Verify clear presentation of findings with logical and scientific explanations.
      • Constructively inform the author and editor of any data processing issues identified.
    6. Conclusion:
      Examine if the conclusion:
      • Aligns with or contradicts the hypothesis.
      • Explains the correlation of findings with previous research.
      • Clearly articulates the research's contribution to knowledge.
    7. Tables and Figures:
      Assess the suitability, effectiveness in presenting data, and ease of comprehension of tables and figures.

Reviewer Responsibilities After Completing the Review

All manuscripts received for review are considered confidential and must not be:

  • Shown to anyone outside the review process without the editor's authorization.
  • Discussed with colleagues in the same field unless approved by the editor beforehand.

Reviewers are prohibited from:

  • Directly contacting the authors about the manuscript.
  • Engaging in any actions that violate publication ethics.

If you suspect plagiarism or fraud:

  • In cases of suspected plagiarism, report it to the editor or journal manager with detailed citations of the allegedly copied material.
  • Notify the editor or journal manager if you suspect research misconduct or fraudulent data.

Review Procedure

Reviewers are requested to complete the provided reviewer form to conduct their review. Additionally, reviewers are welcome to upload a file of the article with their comments for more detailed feedback or corrections to the author.

 

Publication Frequency

Teknisia Journal is published bi-annually, in May and November.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Journal History

Teknisia was first published in April 1996 and received accreditation as a national scientific journal on March 20, 2000, by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia (Number 69/DIKTI/Kep/2000).

It was further accredited on December 9, 2003, by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia (official Decree Number 49/Dikti/Kep/2003).

In 2019, Teknisia underwent another reaccreditation and achieved an upgrade from Sinta 5 to Sinta 4, starting from Volume 14, Number 1. This was officially recognized by the Minister of Research and Technology/National Research and Innovation Agency on December 23, 2020 (Decree Number 200/M/KPT/2020).
