International Office Conference (IOC)

Background

CThe global COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the human’s life today. It has been more than a year the pandemic hit all aspects of life including the higher education sector. The pandemic situation has forced all of the management in higher education institutions to redesign the operational activities such us lecturing, administrative activities, and all the business process switched to online. This impact has also challenged the international office management responsible for initiating and implementing international cooperation.

The international cooperation implementation need to be adjusted and redesigned to maintain the cooperation with international partners because the international “physical” mobility has been stopped. Most of countries has closed their borders for international arrival as an effort to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. A regular practice of online meetings, online seminars/ webinars/ conferences have been applied to replace the “traditional” international cooperation’s implementation between institutions. Despite the limitations caused by the pandemic, to keep strengthening the cooperation between national higher education institutions in Indonesia and partner universities in overseas, Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD) and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII) plan to hold an International Office Conference (IOC) 2021.

The IOC 2021 is the first international conference organized by Universitas Padjajaran (UNPAD) and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). The event will take place on 3-4 December 2021 with the theme “Indigenous Culture, Global Mobility, and Internationalization in Higher Education”.
