Focus and Scope

Jurnal Abdimas Madani dan Lestari (JAMALI) is a community service journal published and managed by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) of Universitas Islam Indonesia. The journal serves as a platform for disseminating research-based community engagement activities, providing innovative solutions to various societal challenges. JAMALI welcomes manuscripts in the field of applied research and the downstream implementation of quantitative and qualitative scientific research into community service formats. The scope includes:

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an anonymous peer review process, in which the identities of the authors and reviewers are not disclosed to each other to ensure an objective and unbiased evaluation.

The corresponding author submits the manuscript through the journal’s online submission system.
The Editor-in-Chief conducts an initial editorial screening to assess the manuscript’s originality, academic quality, relevance to the journal’s scope, and compliance with the journal’s ethical standards, including plagiarism screening.
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with relevant expertise. Reviewer selection is based solely on academic competence and the absence of conflicts of interest.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript objectively and provide constructive comments and recommendations, including acceptance, revision, or rejection, through the online review system.
If revisions are required, the manuscript and anonymized reviewer comments are returned to the author for revision. The revised manuscript may be sent back to the reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.
The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection of the manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial policies.
On average, the peer review process takes approximately 8 weeks after the manuscript has been assigned to reviewers.

Archiving Policy

At present, the journal content is not archived in any external long-term digital preservation service (such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, or Portico).
The content is managed and stored by the publisher through the journal’s online system.

Publication Frequency

JAMALI is published twice a year, in March and September.

Open Access Policy

JAMALI provides immediate open access to all published articles through its official journal website. All content is freely available to read, download, and share without any subscription or access fees. This open access policy is applied in order to support the wide dissemination of research and promote global knowledge exchange.

Journal History

Since its inception in 2019, Jurnal Abdimas Madani dan Lestari (JAMALI) has published all of its content under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license.

Publication Fees

As of June 24, 2022, Jurnal Abdimas Madani dan Lestari (JAMALI) applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) to support the costs of manuscript processing, peer review, editing, production, and online hosting. The APC is charged only for manuscripts that have been accepted for publication.

The applicable APC rates are as follows:

Indonesian authors: IDR 500,000 per article.
Indonesian authors with international co-authors (with international affiliations): IDR 250,000 per article, provided the manuscript is written in English.
International authors: No publication fee is charged, provided the author holds an international affiliation.

Authors are required to complete the APC payment after the manuscript has been accepted. Detailed payment instructions will be sent to the corresponding author via email.

Registered under E-ISSN 2686-097X (online), JAMALI is a multidisciplinary scientific journal published by the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM), Universitas Islam Indonesia. The aim of this journal is to disseminate conceptual ideas and research findings in the field of community service.

JAMALI:

JAMALI contains various activities aimed at addressing and managing the potentials, obstacles, challenges, and issues found within communities. The implementation of service activities also involves the participation of community members and partners. These service activities are organized with the goal of improving community welfare.

This journal has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA), managed by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikbudristek), in accordance with Decree No. 105/E/KPT/2022 (certificate)
