JIPRO focuses on legal studies related to intellectual property (which refers to creations of the mind, such as inventions; literary and artistic works; designs; and symbols, names and images used in commerce) in various scientific fields. These studies highlight the importance of knowledge and its application, with the aim of raising public awareness and improving societal well-being. Therefore, JIPRO welcomes articles on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), including but not limited to Industrial Property (rights to inventions, trademarks, designs, trade secrets, plant variety) and Copyright (literary and artistic works like books, music, films, software), as well as communally owned intellectual property (such as traditional cultural expressions, traditional knowledge, geographical indications, genetic resources).

Journal History
JIPRO was initiated and launched in mid-2018 to support the publication of scholarly work related to law and intellectual property rights, specifically targeting academics at universities with a focus on intellectual property studies. Since its inception, JIPRO has evolved to meet the evolving standards of professional journal management by facilitating the publication of credible scientific articles that contribute significantly to the spread of knowledge, especially concerning law and intellectual property rights. Consequently, continuous efforts are made to enhance and upgrade publication management quality, adhering to current regulations and recognized best practices within the realm of scholarly publishing.

AUTHOR GUIDELINES FOR JIPRO SUBMISSIONS
A. General Rules
JIPRO evaluates submissions under the condition that the manuscript is the author's own original work and does not replicate any previously published content, including the author's earlier publications. The submission should be made exclusively to JIPRO. All manuscripts must comply with the guidelines set by JIPRO, including adherence to publication ethics, plagiarism policy, author guidelines, reviewer guidelines, copyright provisions, licensing, and AI usage policy.
During the submission process, authors must confirm that their submissions comply with all the listed requirements. Non-compliance may result in the return of the submission to the authors. a. The manuscript submission has not been published before, is not currently under review by another journal, and has neither been considered nor accepted for publication elsewhere; b. The manuscript must comply with the journal's Focus and Scope and Publication Ethics; c. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format; d. The structure and format of the manuscript must comply with the manuscript requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines; e. The manuscript must write in good English and the manuscripts have been grammar checked. B. Structure of Manuscript
The writing of the manuscript shall use these standard headings based on common structures in academic papers.
Title: The title captures your research's main ideas, using a few words to convey content and purpose. It should be simple, direct, accurate, specific, concise, unambiguous, informative, unique, and not misleading.
Author’s name: author’s name shall be written without academic nor professional title
Institution: author’s affiliation and position.
Author’s e-mail: official or professional correspondence of the author.
Abstract: The abstract shall be written inIndonesia and English and contain: (1) the background of the problem; (2) the research question; (3) how the problem or question is analyzed (research method); and (4) the result of the analysis on the problem and the recommendation suggested. The abstract should be stated briefly in one paragraph, italicized, in 12 font size, single space, and no more than 250 words.
Key words: provide at least 3 specific conceptual words or phrases, in alphabetical order, italicized and separated by comma, written with double spaces after the abstract in English.
Introduction: This should consist of 3–5 paragraphs covering: the urgency of the research and formulation of the problem, a review of previous literature and this study’s limitations, the novelty of the research, and the research objectives. The body text is in English with the following condition: Book Antiqua font style in 12 pt size, 1.5 space, and justified paragraph.
Methodology: This section should specify the type of research used, the methodological approach , sources of data, methods of data collection, the object of research, research subjects and location (for empirical studies), and data analysis techniques.
Research Finding and Discussion: For author whose article is based on research, the manuscript should cover the results of the research and followed by the discussion. The result should provide the complete data of the findings in form of table or chart, then followed by the explanation for each findings. For author whose article is a conceptual analysis, the discussion of the article is presented thoroughly and clearly here.
Conclusion: This section provides the answers to the research questions as outlined in the abstract and introduction. Authors should highlight the significance of the findings and provide recommendations for future research. The conclusion should not merely restate the abstract or describe the findings but instead emphasize their importance. Ideally, the conclusion should be limited to 1–2 concise paragraphs.
References: Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and vice versa). References should be arranged first alphabetically and then further sorted chronologically if necessary. More than one reference from the same author(s) in the same year must be identified by the letters 'a', 'b', 'c', etc., placed after the year of publication. Therefore, references are highly recommended to be compiled using a reference manager (Mendeley/Zotero) and formatted according to The Chicago Manual of Style, 17th edition (full note). In addition, general referencing guide for the manuscript shall consider the following:
Manuscript is expected involve approximately 20-25 primaries and update references to assert a high quality of the contribution to the knowledge development. References should relate only to the content that is cited within the text of the manuscript. Using only the past 10-year-old references, with the minimum proportion of journal articles to be 50% out of the total references; and
Citing online/internet-based sources is only permissible if cited from accountable sources, such as internationally-recognized journals, as well as official websites of the government bodies and/or private institutions. As a minimum, the full URL should be given and the date when the reference was last accessed. Any further information, if known (DOI, author names, dates, reference to a source publication, etc.), should also be given.
C. Manuscript Guidelines
Format: Article files should be provided in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format. The manuscript is prepared in a A4 paper, single-sided, using Book Antiqua font style in 12 pt size, 1.5 space, and justified paragraph. The title is written in bold, in Book Antiqua style, 14 pt size and preferably no more than 12 words, center position.
Article length / wordcount: Articles should be between 6000 and 8000 words in length. This includes all text, for example, the structured abstract, references, all text in tables, and figures and appendices.
Author details: Please clearly indicate the given name(s) and family name(s) of each author and check that all names are accurately spelled. The names of all contributing authors should be listed in the order in which you would like them to be published. Each contributing author will extract the following details:
Author email address. A clear indication and an active email address of all authors. Particularly for the corresponding author, we advise using an active university or institution email address.
Author name. We will reproduce it exactly, so any middle names and/or initials they want featured must be included.
Author affiliation. This should be where they were based when the research for the paper was conducted.
Headings: Headings must be concise, with a clear indication of the required hierarchy. The preferred format is for first level headings to be in bold, and subsequent sub-headings to be write using capital letters only at first word or special name, 12 font size, started from the left margin. Sub of subheading, if any, are written using capital letters only at first word or special name. They should be started from the left margin.
Language: the manuscript must be written in Indonesia or English.
Paper type:The following types of manuscripts can be submitted to JIPRO:
Research paper, which is a final report on the finished original experimental or empirical study.
Theoretical/Conceptual paper, which is devoted to theoretical study of the problem, which complies with the journal’s scope.
Table and figures:Tables and figures should be presented as follows:
The name of tables and figures should follow a numbering system (Arabic numbering system). The names of the tables and figures are on the top and bottom parts of the tables, respectively.
The tables and figures should provide the source of information, if any, at the bottom part of both.
Any table should contain only heading and contents. The table contains row lines only without column lines. Note(s) and source(s) should be included underneath the table where appropriate.
