About Journal

Officium Notarium is a legal scientific journal publication that has gone through strict peer review processes and is accessible to the public. This journal is published by the Faculty of Law Universitas Islam Indonesia as the medium for communication and dissemination of academic research in Notary and Civil Law Studies. Officium Notarium was based on International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) provided by Pusat Nasional ISSN Indonesia on May 03, 2021 and available at E-ISSN 2808-2613 - P-ISSN 2776-5458. The journal is published biannually and was published for the first time in April 2021. This journal focuses on comparative, descriptive, and analytical legal research in notary and civil law. Legal studies on banking, financing, capital markets, waqf, contract, marriage, inheritance, wills, dispute resolution, guarantees, commercial law, intellectual property, notaries, insurance, cyber law, bankruptcy, companies, and other civil issues are generally acceptable for publication in this scientific journal.

As a legal state based on Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution, Indonesia presents every person with legal objectives such as certainty, safety, and legal protection. The necessity for authentic documented evidence regarding acts, agreements, decisions, and legal events made by the public in front of or by authorized officials is one manifestation of the creation of these three legal aims. The authorized official is a notary, which is an official who practises a profession and provides legal services to the public with the purpose of promoting safety and providing legal certainty.

Today's increasingly contentious behavior among Indonesians requires evidence—which is no longer the burden of proof for the parties involved, but rather the contribution of significant institutions—in the form of authentic deeds, as evidence of legal actions or requirements demanding certainty of law.

Being able to validate a legal action or present the suppoting data is a respectable and honorable profession for a notary. If this line of work is performed in an approach that addresses the needs of society and the facts, including the notary's role in educating the parties regarding an agreement, then it ought to be considered a noble one (officium). It is fundamental that the academic community maintain the respected profession of notarial work by disseminating the work that notaries do in the course of upholding the law. A scientific study that is accessible for reading and provides academic insight about the nature and methods of this profession's activity in Indonesia will oversee monitoring in the form of a scientific journal.

As an open-access scientific journal, all articles and content available in the offcium notarium journal feature are free to use for people who specifically register or visit the journal content. Users are able to download, copy, distribute, search, or provide the full text of articles in this journal without the permission of the editor, publisher, or author who published their work. This journal has been approved by DOAJ, and every publication of a scientific article in this journal has gone through a review process by assistant editors, editors, and peer reviewers.

The editors will consider articles written in both Indonesian and English starting in 2024, as this journal will only publish articles in a hybrid format. An increased number of readers, particularly those from abroad, are going to discover the conveniences and advantages in using this hybrid manner. Involving readers and writers from Indonesia and around the world is the main objective of this officium notarium journal. For that reason, authors whom we respect including academics, notaries, practitioners, and students submit articles to this journal through the following services:
