Abstract
ABSTRACT: Mental health plays a crucial role in an individual's overall quality of life. The rapid growth of social media technology significantly impacts individual mental health, creating a need for self-regulatory strategies such as social media detoxification. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of social media detoxification as an intervention to improve mental health among emerging adults. A prospective pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 16 participants allocated into experimental and control groups. Data analysis revealed significant differences in mental health conditions between the pretest and posttest measurements across both groups. A significantly higher increase in posttest scores within the experimental group indicates that social media detoxification serves as an effective intervention for enhancing mental health in emerging adults.
Key words: Social Media Detox, Mental Health, Early Adulthood.
