Article:
Effectiveness of carbazochrome sodium sulfonate in reducing hemorrhage during TURP for BPH: A systematic review
JKKI: Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia. 2025;16(3):436–450.

The Editors of JKKI: Jurnal Kedokteran dan Kesehatan Indonesia wish to inform readers that concerns have been raised regarding the methodological validity of the above-mentioned article.

Specifically, the concerns relate to a potential inconsistency between the stated research question, inclusion criteria, and conclusions of the systematic review, and the characteristics of several primary studies included in the analysis. It has been noted that some of the randomized controlled trials cited as key evidence appear to have been conducted in non-urological surgical populations, while the review explicitly addresses patients undergoing transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

The Editorial Office has initiated a post-publication evaluation in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policies and the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The authors have been contacted and asked to provide a formal clarification regarding these issues.

At this stage, no final editorial decision has been made regarding the status of the article. This Expression of Concern is being issued to alert readers while the editorial assessment is ongoing. Further updates will be provided once the evaluation has been completed.

The Editors emphasize their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record and thank readers for their vigilance in identifying potential issues in published work.
