Focus and Scope

Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies is a discursive venue for research groups, lectures and tutors and students emphasizing architectural education in Indonesian context. It connects education realm with building industries and architectural practices. This journal is peer reviewed/ refereed.

Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies contains variety of architectural topics on architectural history and theory and criticism, structure and building science, urbanism as well as design practices. The Journal encourages discursive architecture on marginalized community, gender, race or ethnicity, as well as multicultural and participatory approach.

Peer Review Process

Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies is an international journal published by Department of Architecture, Universitas Islam Indonesia. All submitted manuscripts are subject to a double-blind review process, through an online system. Final decision of articles acceptance will be made by Editors according to Reviewers feedback.

Publication Frequency

This Journal publishes two issues in one volume a year. The issues are expected to be published in May and November of each year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are not allowed;
The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others that this has been appropriately cited or quoted;
An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour and is unacceptable;
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work.
For checking Plagiarism, Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies Editorial Board will screen plagiarism by using TURNITIN Program. If it is found plagiarism indication (above 20%), the editorial board will reject the manuscript immediately.
