Journal Description

Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies is a discursive venue for research groups, lectures and tutors and students emphasizing architectural education in Indonesian context. It connects education realm with building industries and architectural practices. This journal is internationally peer reviewed / refereed.


Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies contains variety of architectural topics on architectural history and theory and criticism, structure and building science as well as design practices. The Journal encourages discursive architecture on marginalized community, gender, race or ethnicity, as well as multicultural and participatory approach.


The journal is published by Universitas Islam Indonesia and managed by Department of Architecture


The journal is accredited Sinta 3 based on Surat Keputusan Direktur Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi, Riset, dan Teknologi, Nomor: 158/E/KPT/2021 tanggal 09 Desember 2021 tentang Peringkat Akreditasi Jurnal Ilmiah periode I Tahun 2021
The accreditation is valid from Vol. 5 No. 1 (2021) until Vol. 9 No. 2 (2025).


The Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies has been an academic platform for authors, editors, and reviewers from many countries. The editorial team is committed to maintaining the geographical diversity of contributors to enhance the journal's quality.

We would like to inform all authors, researchers, and contributors that the article quota for publication in Journal of Architectural Research and Design Studies (JARDS) for the current year has been fully reached.
Due to the high volume of quality submissions and our commitment to maintaining publication standards, we are unable to accept additional manuscripts for this year’s issues.

The next Call for Papers will officially open in January 2027. We warmly invite prospective authors to prepare and submit their manuscripts during the upcoming submission period.
