Ownership and Management

The Journal of Islamic Economics Lariba (JIELariba) is published by Universitas Islam Indonesia and managed by the Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, at the university. As with all journals at the university, ultimate ownership resides with Universitas Islam Indonesia. Under current university regulations, the Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, the Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, and Universitas Islam Indonesia collaboratively share responsibility for the journal’s management.

The Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana provides ongoing operational funding—covering the editorial team’s annual salaries, routine editorial meetings, and related expenses. The editorial board was initially proposed by and formally appointed by the Editor-in-Chief. The Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam contributes funds for regular evaluations and strategic meetings, while Universitas Islam Indonesia covers broader journal costs, including annual memberships with Crossref, Portico, DOAJ, and the hosting and maintenance of Open Journal Systems.

The journal is not currently affiliated with any external society or organization and clearly identifies its ownership structure to avoid misleading authors or editors. JIELariba adheres to the WAME policy on the relationship between editors-in-chief and owners. The editor-in-chief, Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, and Universitas Islam Indonesia want the journal to succeed, but they have different roles. The editor-in-chief’s primary responsibilities are to inform and educate readers, with attention to the accuracy and importance of journal articles, and to protect and strengthen the integrity and quality of the journal and its processes. Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, and Universitas Islam Indonesia support the core values and policies of the organization and are ultimately responsible for all aspects of publishing the journal, including its staff, budget, and business policies, as previously mentioned. The relationship between Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, Universitas Islam Indonesia, and Editor-in-Chief is based on mutual respect, trust, and recognition of each other’s authority and responsibilities.

The editor-in-chief has full authority over the editorial content of the journal, generally referred to as editorial independence. Editorial content includes articles and editorial, both in print and electronic formats, and how and when information is published. Program Studi Ekonomi Islam Program Sarjana, Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam, Universitas Islam Indonesia do not interfere in the evaluation, selection, or editing of individual articles, either directly or by creating an environment in which editorial decisions are strongly influenced.

Information about JIELariba’s ownership and management is prominently displayed on the journal’s website. The organizational names are used accurately to reflect the true nature of ownership, with no misleading affiliations implied. Although the journal is not formally linked to any external society, links to Universitas Islam Indonesia’s and the Fakultas Ilmu Agama Islam’s websites are provided for transparency.
