 Correction

Authors hold ultimate responsibility for reviewing and approving the final version of their manuscript prior to publication, and must ensure all errors are rectified beforehand. In the event that an error is discovered in a published article but has no bearing on the research results or conclusions, EJEM will issue a formal correction/erratum notice.
Note: Authors, readers, and editors are highly encouraged to report any errors identified in published papers. Please immediately contact the EJEM Editorial Office at Universitas Islam Indonesia.

 Retraction

In compliance with the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines, EJEM reserves the right to retract a published article under the following circumstances:

  • Unreliable findings. The research results are found to be highly unreliable, whether due to honest error, data fabrication, or miscalculation.
  • Plagiarism. The manuscript contains clear instances of plagiarism or uncredited work.
  • Redundant/Duplicate publication. The work has been published elsewhere without proper attribution, disclosure to the editor, permission to republish, or justifiable grounds.
  • Unauthorized data usage. The study incorporates material or data without explicit authorization.
  • Legal infringements. The article involves copyright infringement, privacy violations, or other legal complications.
  • Unethical research. The study was conducted in violation of established ethical research standards.
  • Compromised peer review. The peer review process for the paper is found to be dubious or manipulated.
  • Undisclosed conflicts. The authors failed to disclose a major competing interest.

If any of the aforementioned forms of misconduct are substantiated, EJEM will issue a Retraction Notice outlining the specific reasons. The PDF version of the article will remain accessible but will be prominently watermarked with "RETRACTED". The EJEM editorial team will formally notify the authors of the retraction.

  • Fee Policy. Paid Article Processing Charges (APCs) are strictly non-refundable if an article is retracted due to policy violations.

 Withdrawal

While strongly discouraged, authors may initiate the withdrawal of their manuscript before or during the peer review process by submitting a formal request detailing their reasons to the editorial board.

  • During Peer Review. Authors should note that a withdrawal penalty fee of US$150 will be imposed for any submission withdrawn while undergoing active peer review. This fee compensates for the time, administrative efforts, and academic resources expended by EJEM editors and external reviewers during the evaluation process. Upon approval of the withdrawal and settlement of the fee, the manuscript will be purged from the journal’s operational system, and the authors will receive official confirmation.
  • Accepted and In-Press Articles. Articles that have been accepted or are currently "in press" may still be withdrawn by the editorial board if severe infringements of professional ethical codes (similar to the criteria for retraction) are discovered prior to final publication.
