About Journal

Economic Journal of Emerging Markets (EJEM) is a peer-reviewed journal which provides a forum for scientific works pertaining to emerging market economies. Published every April and October, this journal welcomes original quantitative research papers on economic issues and problems in emerging markets. The journal is fully open access for scholarly readers.

The journal was first published in 1993 as Jurnal Ekonomi (ISSN 0854-5723), which then changed to Jurnal Ekonomi Pembangunan (JEP) in 1996 (ISSN 1410-2641), and since 2009 has become Economic Journal of Emerging Markets (EJEM, ISSN 2502-180X). The journal is published by the Center for Economic Studies, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

The Economic Journal of Emerging Markets charges the following author fees.

Authors are not required to pay an Article Submission Fee.

Article Publication: IDR 3,000,000 (for Indonesians) and USD 150 (for foreign/non-Indonesian)

Article publication fees only apply to accepted manuscripts. If the authorship composition consists of Indonesians and foreigners, then the publication fee is determined by the correspondent's status. The corresponding author is determined at the beginning of the manuscript submission.

Corresponding authors affiliated with institutions located in UN-recognised Least Developed Countries (LDCs) are eligible for a 50% discount on Article Processing Charges (APC) without considering co-authors' institutions. Valid institutional proof is required at the time of submission.

For wire transfers, the author needs to pay the fees for both the sender and the recipient bank, to ensure EJEM receives the full invoiced amount.
