Asian Journal of Media and Communication (AJMC) is an international, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of media and communication with an Asian focus and perspective. The journal is housed editorially at the Communication Department, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). We aim to promote and disseminate high-quality scholarship on media and communication studies, both empirical and theoretical, in and on the Asia-Pacific region and among Asian communities worldwide.
AJMC is indexed in Google Scholar, Garuda, One Search Indonesia, ROAD (Directory of Open Access Scholarly Resources), and is a member of Crossref.
Asian Journal of Media and Communication (AJMC) is an international, peer-reviewed, and interdisciplinary journal devoted to the study of media and communication with an Asian focus and perspective. We welcome contributions on the following topics:
All articles will be reviewed based on the journal’s scope and author guidelines. All articles will also be checked for plagiarism through iThenticate or Turnitin. Manuscripts with a plagiarism rate of more than 20% will be rejected automatically. The manuscripts take an average of 12-24 weeks to process (from submission to publication).
Once the paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will then be double-blind peer-reviewed by independent, anonymous expert referees. The editor will select the reviewers. The factors considered in the review are relevance, soundness, significance, originality, readability, and language.
The suggestions from the reviewers should be categorized into: (1) may be published without revision; (2) may be published with minor changes; (3) may be published after major revisions; and (4) should not be published. If the reviewers do not agree on the acceptance of the article, the editors will make the final decision.
The journal publishes two issues per volume per year. The issues are expected to be published in July and December of each year.
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.
Authors retain copyright without restrictions.
This journal does not have article processing or submission charges.
This journal utilizes the national library (Garuda Dikti) to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries, allowing those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
Submission fees. There are no submission fees for the Asian Journal of Media and Communication.
Publication fees. Upon acceptance, there are no Publication fees for the Asian Journal of Media and Communication.
The journal is funded and housed editorially by the Department of Communications, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). No fee for the author upon publication. No Fast track.

2017 -- AJMC (Asian Journal of Media and Communication) was first published in 2017. The editors were Muzayin Nazaruddin, Holy Rafika Dhona, Masduki, and Zaki Habibi.
2020/2021 -- AJMC welcomes new editors and reviewers from various backgrounds and countries. AJMC has also been edited by editors from more than four countries, including the US, Switzerland, Sweden, Indonesia, and Estonia. Our manuscript has also been reviewed by reviewers in more than four countries, including Australia, the US, Switzerland, Sweden, India, Indonesia, etc. In the past year, we have published ten articles regularly. The authors came from more than 10 countries: the Philippines, Hong Kong, China, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Iran, Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and Africa.
2021 -- AJMC goes to rebranding. Logos are new and designed, but still make green the core colour. The rebranding also makes some changes tothe Style Sheet.
2023 -- AJMC restructured the editorial board as mentioned on the Editorial Team here.
