Focus and Scope

Jurnal Sains & Teknologi Lingkungan (JSTL) published twice a year in January and June is a scientific journal that publishes scientific research papers and ideas in the field of science and technology related to environmental issues. The journal covers typical subjects of environmental sciences and technologies such as.: Drinking water treatment, wastewater treatment, solid waste treatment, solid waste management, cleaner production, air pollution management, resource recovery, water pollution, soil contamination, and other relevant fields. JSTL published by the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) in collaboration with Association of Indonesian Sanitation and Environmental Engineering Experts (IATPI) only accepts original scientific works that have not been published by other medias. All incoming articles will be reviewed in advance by competent reviewers before being eligible for publication.

Peer Review Process

An article submitted to the journal will be blindly reviewed by two experts in the relevant field of study. If both reviewers agree on the publication, the Editor-in-Chief will publish the article after the required revisions are completed. In cases where the reviewers do not agree on the acceptance of the article, the final decision will be made by the Editor-in-Chief. On average, the peer review and publication process takes approximately 8 weeks from the time the manuscript is sent to reviewers.

Publication Frequency

The journal publishes two issues in one volume a year. The issues are expected to be published in January and June of each year.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Jurnal Sains & Teknologi Lingkungan is committed to the long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content.

All published articles are stored and preserved on the journal’s official Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform and are made openly accessible. The journal regularly backs up its content to ensure long-term availability and data security.

Authors are also permitted and encouraged to deposit their published articles in institutional or subject-based repositories to support long-term preservation and access.

Repository Policy

Jurnal Sains & Teknologi Lingkungan allows authors to deposit preprint, accepted manuscript (postprint), and published versions of their articles in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal websites, provided that proper attribution to the original publication in the journal is given and the applicable Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0) is respected.

Journal History

Jurnal Sains & Teknologi Lingkungan (JSTL) has been published since 2009, twice a year in January and June. Starting in 2016, JSTL no longer publishes a print version, instead becoming an online journal.
