Reviewer Guidelines

Manuscripts submitted to al-Mawarid: Jurnal Syariah dan Hukum are initially reviewed and selected by the Editorial Team based on their alignment with the journal’s scope, compliance with the prescribed template, and adherence to the journal’s writing guidelines. Eligible manuscripts are returned to the authors for revision before being forwarded to reviewers for further evaluation.

Evaluation Criteria

Presentation

Does the manuscript present a cohesive and well-structured argument? Are the ideas clearly and logically articulated?

Writing

Does the title accurately reflect the content of the manuscript? Is the writing concise, coherent, and easy to follow?

Length

Which sections of the manuscript require expansion, reduction, condensation, summarization, or integration?

Title

Is the title concise and free from unnecessary or implicit terms? Does it clearly represent the main result or conclusion of the manuscript? Are abbreviations avoided in the title?

Abstract

Does the abstract include: (1) the aim of the study; (2) the method; (3) the results or findings; and (4) the conclusion/contribution?

Introduction

The introduction should clearly and systematically present:

  • The background of the study;
  • The state of the art and relevant prior research to establish novelty;
  • A gap analysis and a clear statement of novelty;
  • The research problem or hypothesis (if applicable);
  • The proposed approach to address the problem;
  • A clear description of the methodology, enabling reproducibility;
  • Research details, including location, participants, instruments, and data analysis methods;
  • The objectives of the study.

Result and discussion

  • Data should be presented in processed form (not raw data), such as tables or figures, accompanied by clear explanations.
  • Results must directly address the research questions or objectives stated in the Introduction.
  • Findings should be compared with existing studies, highlighting similarities or differences.
  • Each result must be interpreted scientifically.
  • The implications of the research should be clearly articulated.
  • Limitations of the study and methodological constraints should be acknowledged.
  • Suggestions for future research or further development should be provided.

Conclusion

The conclusion should:

  • Address the research objectives; Include implications or recommendations (optional); Be written in paragraph form (not in bullet points or numbering).

Based on the review process, manuscripts will receive one of the following decisions:

- Accept Submission

- Revisions Required

- Resubmit for Review

- Resubmit Elsewhere

- Decline Submission
