About Journal

al-Mawarid: Jurnal Syari’ah & Hukum is a peer-reviewed journal published two times a year (February and August) by the Department of Ahwal Syakhshiyah, Faculty of Islamic Studies, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Formerly, first published in 1993, al-Mawarid was initially published as Al-Mawarid: Jurnal Hukum Islam, an Indonesian bi-annual journal on Islamic Law. Since 2019, to enlarge its scope, this journal transforms its name to al-Mawarid: Jurnal Syari’ah dan Hukum.

al-Mawarid warmly welcomes graduate students, academicians, and practitioners to analytically discuss and deeply explore new issues in relation to the improvement of shari'ah and law challenges and beyond.

Plagiarism screening is conducted by the Editorial Board of al-Mawarid: Jurnal Syariah dan Hukum using the Turnitin application (https://www.turnitin.com/).

Plagiarism and self-plagiarism are strictly prohibited.
Authors must ensure that their work is entirely original. If the work or words of others are used, they must be properly cited or quoted.
Authors should not publish manuscripts describing substantially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite all publications that have significantly influenced the reported research.

Screening Process

The Editorial Team conducts an initial manual screening of manuscripts using both offline and online databases to verify proper citation and quotation practices.

The Editorial Team then screens the manuscript using the Turnitin application. If a similarity index indicating potential plagiarism exceeds 20%, the manuscript will be rejected immediately.
