Digital Archiving Policy
Digital Archiving Policy
The International Journal of Halal Industry (IJHI) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, and usability of all published scholarly content. The journal recognizes that maintaining a permanent and reliable scholarly record is an essential component of academic publishing and supports the principles of Open Access and research dissemination.
To guarantee the continued availability of published articles, IJHI implements a comprehensive digital preservation strategy through multiple archiving and indexing mechanisms.
Permanent Availability of Published Content
All articles published in IJHI are made freely accessible through the journal's official website and remain permanently available to readers without any embargo period. The journal endeavors to maintain uninterrupted access to published content and to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
IJHI utilizes the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) to provide long-term digital preservation of published articles. Through this service, journal content is securely archived in a distributed preservation network, ensuring continued access even in the event of technical failures, website disruptions, or institutional changes.
Institutional Repository Preservation
Published articles are preserved through the institutional infrastructure of Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII). The publisher is committed to maintaining secure digital storage and backup systems to ensure the long-term preservation of journal content.
DOI Registration and Persistent Identifiers
All published articles are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. The DOI provides a permanent and persistent link to the article, facilitating long-term accessibility, citation tracking, and scholarly discoverability.
Metadata Preservation and Indexing
The journal maintains article metadata in accordance with international publishing standards. Metadata are disseminated to indexing and abstracting services to improve discoverability and ensure the preservation of bibliographic records.
Multiple Backup and Security Measures
To protect against accidental data loss, system failure, or cyber-related incidents, IJHI regularly performs digital backups of:
- Published articles (PDF and supplementary files);
- Article metadata;
- Editorial records;
- Journal management data.
Backup copies are stored in secure locations and managed according to institutional information technology policies.
Content Integrity and Scholarly Record
IJHI is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record. Published articles will not be removed from the journal website except under exceptional circumstances consistent with recognized publishing ethics standards.
In cases requiring corrections, retractions, or withdrawals, IJHI follows the principles and recommendations established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any corrections or retractions will be clearly identified and linked to the original publication.
Journal Continuity Plan
In the unlikely event that the journal ceases publication, the publisher will make reasonable efforts to ensure that all previously published content remains accessible through preservation systems, institutional repositories, and recognized archiving services.
Open Access Preservation Commitment
As an Open Access journal, IJHI is committed to ensuring that published research remains permanently available to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the wider public. The journal continuously evaluates and enhances its preservation practices in accordance with evolving international standards for digital scholarly communication.
