Plagiarim Policy

The International Journal of Halal Industry (IJHI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical publishing. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, and other forms of research misconduct.
All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin, before entering the peer-review process. The similarity report is evaluated by the Editorial Team, which considers not only the overall similarity score but also the nature, source, context, and extent of the matched content.
The following guidelines are used during the initial plagiarism screening process:

  1. Similarity Index above 25 percent.
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 25% may be rejected without peer review, particularly when substantial portions of the text are copied without proper attribution, demonstrate poor paraphrasing, or indicate potential plagiarism.
  2. Similarity Index Between 15% and 25%.
Manuscripts with a similarity index between 15% and 25% may be returned to the authors for revision. Authors will be required to improve citations, revise overlapping text, and provide appropriate paraphrasing where necessary before the manuscript can proceed to further evaluation.
  3. Similarity Index Below 15%.
Manuscripts with a similarity index below 15% may proceed to editorial evaluation and peer review, provided that all sources are appropriately cited and no evidence of plagiarism or unethical text reuse is identified.

Regardless of the overall similarity score, the Editorial Team reserves the right to reject a manuscript if evidence of plagiarism, unattributed text reuse, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct is detected.

Authors whose manuscripts require revision due to similarity concerns must submit a revised version together with an updated similarity report demonstrating compliance with the journal’s plagiarism standards.

If plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are discovered after publication, IJHI will take appropriate action in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Such actions may include the publication of corrections, retractions, or removal of articles from the journal record where necessary.

IJHI encourages all authors to uphold the principles of academic honesty, proper citation practices, and responsible scholarly communication throughout the research and publication process.
