Publication Ethics

Journal Komunikasi is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Communication, Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in collaboration with APJIKI (Asosiasi Penerbit Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi Indonesia) by adhering to the norms/ethics of scientific publication. Scientific publication must uphold or rely on five core ethical values: honesty, justice, freedom from conflict of interestoriginality, and responsibility.

1. Honesty

Authors should uphold the honesty of the scientific authorship process. It is therefore the manuscript must be free from plagiarism (No data, text, or theory by others are presented as if they were the author's own), data manipulation, and any other kind of duplication or fabrication.

2. Justice

The articles to be published in Jurnal Komunikasi will undergo a double-blind review to ensure that the authors' texts receive fair treatment. Journal managers must also respect the privileged information rights submitted by authors for articles, whether they are accepted or rejected, by accepting the outcome of the article review as either published or rejected.

3. Free from Conflict of Interest

The manuscript, once published in our journal system, should be free from conflicts of interest. It is therefore the articles published require all authors to disclose the statement that the published manuscript is free from a substantive conflict of interest. If the research involves other parties (such as financial support), this should be mentioned or disclosed.

4. Originality. 

The author and managing editor of Jurnal Komunikasi should ensure that articles are never unpublished at all.

5. Responsibility. 

All authors listed in Jurnal Komunikasi should commit and even take responsibility for all articles published.
