Jurnal Komunikasi is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Department of Communications at Universitas Islam Indonesia in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, in collaboration with APJIKI (Indonesian Communication Science Journal Publishers Association). As a platform for communication scholars and researchers, Jurnal Komunikasi is dedicated to disseminating high-quality and original research findings within communication science. This includes but is not limited to journalism, strategic communication, and all areas of communication and media studies. The journal actively welcomes research on contemporary communication issues that span multiple disciplines, including psychology, sociology, politics, and cultural studies. To respond to the development of journal studies at the international level, which has followed scoping review studies, bibliometrics, and other approaches, the Jurnal Komunikasi UII offers opportunities to accept manuscripts that utilize these methods. In alignment with the empowerment ethos of the Department of Communications at Universitas Islam Indonesia, Jurnal Komunikasi encourages communication research with a critical and empowering perspective that would be preferred.
