Abstract

Kehadiaran pangkalan gas LPG mempu meningkatkan distribusi gas elpiji 3 Kg dari pertamina untuk memenuhi kebutuhan masyarakat. Hal ini juga telah diterapkan di Kota Pekanbaru yang memiliki lima pangkalan, namun masih terdapat kendala dalam penjulan, distribusi dan pendapatan di setiap pangkalan gas, ini kemungkinan diakibatkan oleh rendahnya motivasi dan gaya kepemimpinan yang tergolong buruk. Sehingga penting untuk mengidentifikasi motivasi dan gaya kepimpinan pada pangkalan gas yang informasinya sangat terbatas. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis Motivasi dan Kepemimpinan Pemilik Usaha Pangkalan LPG 3 Kg di Kota Pekanbaru. Penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif digunakan melalui wawancara pada 10 responden (masing–masing terdiri dari karyawan dan pemilik usaha). Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi yang bertempat di 5 pangkalan gas LPG di Kota pekanbaru. Hasil penelitian ini mengkonfirmasi bahwa motivasi yang dimiliki pemilik usaha dan juga motivasi pekerjanya berasal dari faktor internal yaitu kebutuhan akan aktualisasi diri dan juga pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup yang terlihat dari lamanya waktu karyawan bekerja yang lebih dari 1 tahun. Kemudian, dari hasil wawancara dan observasi, seluruh owner pangkalan LPG yang menjadi narasumber memiliki jiwa kepemimpinan yang ditinjau dari lima aspek yang terdiri atas kemampuan analisis, kemampuan berkomunikasi, keberanian, kemampuan mengearkan bawahannya, dan ketegasan kepada para bawahannya (pekerja).
